Hi, I’m Lily Murray, a graphic designer based in Adelaide, South Australia. I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Graphic Communication Design at the University of Adelaide, while also working part time as a graphic designer.

I approach design through a combination of research, experimentation and refinement. I’m interested in understanding the purpose behind a project before developing a visual solution, allowing the concept to inform the typography, colour, imagery and overall visual language. I’m particularly interested in branding, visual identity, print, editorial and digital design, and I enjoy creating work that is both visually considered and purposeful.

Curiosity is at the centre of my design practice. I’m constantly researching, exploring new ideas and looking for ways to develop and improve my skills. My design interests include brand identity, typography, editorial design, packaging, art direction, print design and environmental graphics.

Outside of design, I’d describe myself as an introverted extrovert. I love a good yap, but I also love a good nap. I’m constantly inspired by the world around me and tend to notice design in almost every aspect of everyday life.

I love travelling and experiencing new places, cultures and environments. During my gap year, I saved up and embarked on a solo trip through Europe, visiting 21 countries. It was an experience that taught me a lot about independence, adaptability and myself, while also giving me a new appreciation for the different ways people interact with the world around them.

And finally, I have a growing duck collection, with ducks from all over the world. It’s a slightly random hobby, but one that has become a pretty important part of who I am.
